Xu hướng mất cân bằng giới tính khi sinh đang gia tăng ở nhiều nước Châu Á, điển hình là Trung Quốc với tỉ số giới tính khi sinh là 120 nam/100 nữ; Ấn Độ là 120/100 và Việt Nam là 110/100.
