Trong nghiên cứu đăng trên “Tạp chí kiểm tra lâm sàng” của Mỹ, các nhà khoa học Nhật Bản cho biết họ đã tái sinh và khôi phục khả năng hoạt động của tế bào thần kinh của chuột bị tổn thương tủy sống bằng cách lợi dụng tế bào gốc thần kinh và thuốc chống động kinh.
