Theo các nguồn tin tại chỗ, làn sóng bạo lực thời gian gần đây lan rộng trên cả nước Syria đã làm nhiều người thiệt mạng, đặc biệt trong các vụ đụng độ giữa quân đội trung thành với Tổng thống Bashar al-Assad và các tay súng được cho là binh sỹ quân đội đào ngũ.
