Mãi tới gần đây các nhà khoa học Brazil mới phát hiện ra rằng mỏ giúp chúng làm mát cơ thể.Chim tucăng (gồm 38 loài) sống ở các vùng nhiệt đới thuộc châu Mỹ. Chúng có bộ lông sặc sỡ, mỏ lớn và ăn trái cây. Nếu tính về tỷ lệ giữa mỏ và thân thì tucăng là loài có mỏ lớn nhất trong thế giới chim.
