Thứ ánh sáng này tăng, giảm theo từng thời điểm trong ngày.Các nghiên cứu trước đây chứng minh rằng cơ thể người phát ra ánh sáng nhìn thấy có cường độ thấp hơn 1.000 lần so với mức mà mắt người có thể cảm nhận. Trên thực tế, hầu hết sinh vật sống đều phát ra ánh sáng yếu - sản phẩm phụ của những phản ứng sinh hoá trong cơ thể.
