Việc chẩn đoán bệnh viêm khớp dạng thấp và hoại tử đầu xương vô khuẩn, trong một số trường hợp, nếu chỉ dựa trên hình ảnh X-quang, sẽ chậm được phát hiện. Phương pháp chụp cộng hưởng từ mà Bệnh viện Bạch Mai, Hà Nội, bắt đầu triển khai sẽ giúp khắc phục tình trạng này.
