Các nhà khoa học Nhật Bản vừa phát hiện những dấu hiệu được cho là nguyên nhân dẫn tới sự biến đổi virus cúm gia cầm H5N1 thành một chủng virus mới có khả năng lây nhiễm từ người sang người, đó là biến đổi axit amin.
